Updates from the Field

Bohai Sea

The Bohai Sea (below) is an important region for migrating waterbirds in eastern China. The colored thumb tacks represent the locations of three banded Siberian Cranes, which researchers tracked during the fall migrations of 1995 and 1996. In addition, in the spring of 2007 researchers observed over 20 Siberian Cranes at Beidagang Shuiku (Reservoir) to the southeast of Tianjin along Bohai Bay.
