Online Classroom
Welcome to our virtual classroom, where you can learn more about cranes and discover how you can help cranes and other wildlife near your home and school.
For teachers, we have included resources to help you introduce cranes in your classroom, including links for education programs focusing on cranes and classroom activities designed specifically for the Three White Cranes project.
For Students
Tracking Cranes: You are invited to join a team of international researchers as they study Siberian Crane migration in Asia. Together, we will follow two Siberian Cranes as they complete their first spring migration and discover how people that live far from each other are connected by migratory birds. It's a long journey - nearly 3,000 miles - so put on your waders (we'll be walking through wetlands) and grab your binoculars!
You and your class can participate in this exciting study through our online migration map and mapping the migration in your classroom. Meet the migrating cranes and learn more about this study
Crane Fact Sheets: Are you curious about cranes? Although all crane species share similar characteristics, such as adaptations for living in wetland and grassland ecosystems, each species is unique in their appearance, range and relationship with the people that share their habitats. Learn more
Get Involved: Do you wonder what YOU can do to help cranes and other wildlife? There are many things that you can do with your family, school, or community to help protect our natural resources and support conservation efforts. Learn how you can make a difference
