This is only school that Masha and I visited twice in America. We gave our presentation to two different grades.
When I walked into the first classroom, I felt as if I was stepping back into the past. I was still a geography teacher in No. 45 Middle School in Tianjin. The students have different faces, but they have such similar expressions. I know they are no longer children, I should talk with them just like with adults. I'd like more time to think over how to begin our dialogue.
To my surprise, the students in this school are very interested in Chinese and Russia culture, especially Chinese characters. They are glad to learn how to say crane in Chinese and Russian, and they especially like to learn the Chinese characters that look like what they mean – like the character for fish, that looks like a fish.
At last, many students know how to write their name in Russia and Chinese.
Dear students in MitchellMiddle School, if you are visiting our website, I want to say to all of you again: welcome to China. |
